Valencia Basket player Jean Montero has been named to the Liga Endesa All-League First Team for the 2025–26 season, becoming the first player in the club’s history to receive this honor in two consecutive seasons. This selection marks the eighth time a Valencia Basket player has been included among the five best players of the regular season since the award was created. The Dominican guard adds this individual accolade to a remarkable campaign in which he also won the EuroLeague Rising Star award, was selected to the All-EuroLeague First Team, and was named EuroLeague Playoffs MVP.
Montero joins David DeJulius, Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot, Mario Hezonja, and Luka Božić on the All-League First Team after another outstanding season. He once again finished as Valencia Basket’s leading scorer, averaging 14.2 points per game while shooting 39% from three-point range. He also contributed 2.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.2 steals, and drew 3.2 fouls per game, averaging a performance index rating of 16 in just over 20 minutes per game. Notably, he came off the bench in more than half of the 26 Liga Endesa games he played.
Eighth Valencia Basket Selection to the Liga Endesa All-League First Team
Jean Montero’s selection represents the eighth appearance by a Valencia Basket player on the Liga Endesa All-League First Team. The club was not represented in this distinction until the 2013–14 season, when both Romain Sato and Justin Doellman were selected. They were followed by Pau Ribas in 2014–15, Justin Hamilton in 2015–16, Bojan Dubljević on two occasions (2016–17 and 2018–19), and Montero himself in 2024–25. In addition, Bojan Dubljević in 2017–18 and Alberto Abalde in 2019–20 were named to the Liga Endesa All-League Second Team.
